Benefits of the pandemic
So after having Covid in May I became motivated to get my lungs back, so I started hitting the gym…..hard!

So I just finished yet another workout, been going 4 times a week since mid July.

I’m looking in the mirror, flexing right now and am amazed how well I look, Abs and Pecs look amazing, ooh, yeah! been really pushing it on the treadmill too so my lungs finally feel good again…

Gotta say I’m in the best shape since my mid 20’s, diet and exercise are everything…..feels great!

Anyway, anybody else have an uplifting Covid experience?

Benefits? It could wipe out all the anti-vaxers and conspiracy fantasists. Also the old farts like myself, and raspberries being a burden on the younger taxpayer.

Can't think of many. Wfh I guess but tbh I did a lot of that pre-pandemic. I enjoyed the general office banter and interaction.

Of I also enjoy a good social network and that includes nice late night cocktail bars etc.

Nah the pandemic is/was total shite.

for me, its the fact that there is a possilby deadly virus out there and my estranged wife who kidnapped my son suffers from high blood pressure. All i need is a perfect triangle of her forgetting to take her daily pills, someone riddled with covid to lick her face and hope she goes to her mothers who also has underlying health issues for comfort.

That our Governments are a bunch of buffoons and that we elected them so what does that make us ? A society obsessed with Social media and how I want to be seen whilst practically living by my mobile phone. Whilst China continually undermines what we are and erodes our beliefs, to which our collective reaction is completely insipid and weak ?

Re: Benefits of the pandemic
Seems like more than a few older people have decided to take themselves and their experience out of the work pool and opt for early retirement, leaving hundreds of vacancies for youngsters to fill and kick-start their carers.

What's not to like? That means even squeezes will be able to get proper jobs rather than poncing from flabby old gits.

Re: Benefits of the pandemic
Am guessing a lot of people have benefited financially be it by commuting costs for the last two years , holiday costs or general reduced spend in pubs & restaurants (during lockdown closures).
Plus the squeeze on available employees has also meant pay rises.
Our company also gave everyone an additional cash bonus for still being in place (& alive) at the end of 2021

Another benefit is that work practices will be more flexible going forward ... WFH permission was like pulling teeth previously with my boss but thats definitely changing. My goal is to PARLAY that into a 4 day working week for the same money. That would have been unthinkable 2 years ago.

What a very neat and comprehensive summary. :)

You don't need to be a certified doctor to know that if someone tells you on a Monday that everyone will die of the Bubonic plague by teatime and once teatime passes and nothing of the sort happens, that it's not true.

It really isn't any more complex than that.

Not sure that many people would qualify selling more under-age mail-order brides as a benefit of the pandemic, but, me not being the site expert here...

Ooohh, you bitch. I'm telling the teacher about you.

At least it got you out of bed. An observer rather than a poster these days, I note. Bless. Just a shame you ain't man enough to go full _antly.
